Speaking With Power

Now that you’ve built up your personal power, it’s time to take a look at the way you speak.

1) Pause before your point – a brief pause indicates that you control the agenda and that you will not be rushed.

2) Speak in lists – when you start a comment by noting 2 or 3 key points you sound commanding

3) No up-talking – make sure your voice goes down at the ends of sentences, as in “case closed.”

4) Use humor – when you are funny you come across as relaxed and confident
